1500 on full view, sorry, only way to read the annotations

Nothing polished here, part of my new agenda- to show more of my thinking work. This is what I'd call very rough concept art- just thinking on paper with colours in play too. It's obviously a good way to see how well something works, or how well it doesn't.

These are my first concepts ideas for Tunics, a vital part of some of the best LoZs! I know I went to explore extremes with the 'Red' and 'Blue' tunic but these are primary concepts- not final. Also, I figure there's no point in sticking too closely to what came before.

Obviously, it's LoZ, with my hero expanded further. Thinking it'd be cool to call her Aryll.

More of my usual stuff on the way later this week. Thanks for having a look if you do.

Is this more Traditional method (all on one layer) stuff or did you use more than one layer?

I mean besides a Character template.

Either way you manage to get such outstanding effects in your work, this kinda studd makes me think that Nintendo would be crazy to not pay attention.

Best way is to work with a hard brush and lay down your main colours, then take the same brush at a low opacity and stroke over and over to build your colours, keeping a finger on alt so you can grab the new colours as they appear and paint with 'em straight off. It's this sort of constantly moving the brush- gives very vague messy lines but it's good for fleshing out a concept alittle.

I used a few layers in this one, for stuff I wasn't sure about as I was thinking on my feet(Zora and Goron Tunics had whole different masks). But basically, you can see yourself it's very vague and rough so I didn't take very much care with layers. It wasn't entirely one layer though, like the poster was. Thanks for checking it out man.
